Sub-radiation versus super-radiation from a system of a spatially distributed two-level atoms

We study exactly solvable Dicke-like model describing a system of spatially distributed two-level atoms coupled to a single mode cavity field. We study the model in one excitation sub-space, when the field is supposed to be initially in the vacuum state and just one atom of the atomic sample is excited. We show that depending on the particular spatial distribution of atoms the system under consideration can exhibit super-radiation or subradiation. Moreover, we investigate the dynamics of the two-atom system interacting with the cavity field initially prepared in an arbitrary state. Co-operative effects are discussed in this case.     

Low temperature nuclear orientation of239Np in gadolinium host

The angular distribution of γ-radiation from the decay of²³⁹Np oriented at low temperatures in gadolinium host was investigated. The orientation parameters B2 and B4 were determined. The attenuation factors for two long-living states in²³⁹Pu at 391.5 keV and 285.4 keV were calculated. From the anisotropies measured the multipole mixing ratios for 11 gamma-transitions in²³⁹Pu were deduced. The results obtained support the assignment of spins of the levels at 492.2 keV and 391.6 keV as 3/2⁻ and 7/2⁻, respectively.

Quasi-contraction on a cone metric space

In this work we define and study quasi-contraction on a cone metric space. For such a mapping we prove a fixed point theorem. Among other things, we generalize a recent result of H. L. Guang and Z. Xian, and the main result of ?iri? is also recovered.     

The structure of Hg-doped As2Se3 glasses

The structure of the semiconducting glassy As₂Se₃Hg_x system was investigated in a composition range x = 0.005?0.12. An explanation of the anomalous behaviour of the macroscopic density is proposed, based on the analysis of radial electron density distribution curves. A formula is given which correlates quantitatively the magnitude of coordination spheres with the experimental macroscopic density.     

A Classification of 2-Arc-Transitive Circulants

A graph X is k-arc-transitive if its automorphism group acts transitively on the set of k-arcs of X. A circulant is a Cayley graph of a cyclic group. A classification of 2-arc-transitive circulants is given.     

Linear Response Theory for Thermally Driven Quantum Open Systems

This note is a continuation of our recent paper [V. Jakšić Y. Ogata, and C.-A. Pillet, The Green-Kubo formula and Onsager reciprocity relations in quantum statistical mechanics. Commun. Math. Phys. in press.] where we have proven the Green-Kubo formula and the Onsager reciprocity relations for heat fluxes in thermally driven quantum open systems. In this note we extend the derivation of the Green-Kubo formula to heat and charge fluxes and discuss some other generalizations of the model and results of [V. Jakšić Y. Ogata and C.-A. Pillet, The Green-Kubo formula and Onsager reciprocity relations in quantum statistical mechanics. Commun. Math. Phys. in press.].
